Reporting Relationship: The Quality Lead reports to the Operations Director

Job Summary
The Quality Lead represents the customers interests with the business by ensuring all products and services meet specification before shipping. They are also responsible for setting up and managing an effective Quality Management System, developing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for the Company and its supply chain to operate within.

Essential Requirements

Adhere to all Health and Safety Standards.

Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.

Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS).

Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.

Set requirements for suppliers and monitor compliance.

Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards.

Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements.

Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.

Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met.

Promptly escalate all issues.

Manage all external registration requirements to ensure they are met.

Train all team members in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures.

Undertake regular internal and process audits of the QMS.

Ensure corrective actions are undertaken to address non conformities found.

Ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System.

Ensure effective documentation controls.

Perform any other duties as required.


Skills and Experience

Proven experience as quality manager.

Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred.

Significant experience in a manufacturing environment.

Quality Management System Auditing experience and managing audit programs.

A detailed understanding of ISO 9001 / OHAS 18001 requirements.

Lean Six Sigma skills are an advantage.

Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers.

Demonstrable data and a results driven approach.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.

Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)

Membership of an industry related professional body would be advantageous

Mon – Thu:     09:00 to 17:00

Fri:                   09:00 to 14:30

Lunch:             30 minutes
